Colleagues,

Welcome to ASPAN’s 9th Component Development Institute! This Component Development Institute has been designed to provide component leaders with information that will assist them with issues related to the management and development of the component. Topics include financial management, strategic planning, newsletter development, and membership recruitment and retention. Three of our mission directors will be available to discuss specifics regarding clinical practice, education, and research. This workshop will assist attendees in developing and enhancing their leadership and communication skills.

ASPAN is committed to providing our grassroots component members with the knowledge and skill sets needed for success. Our ASPAN leaders are available for mentorship, coaching and cultivating current and future component leaders. Your involvement is essential to ASPAN.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I welcome all of you in helping us determine the future path of each of our components. ASPAN is You, and each of you brings a set of skills and knowledge that when combined will make each component a significant part of our premier organization - ASPAN. It is through your dreams that we design and develop our components that continue to lead to our legacy. Take advantage of this opportunity for professional growth and networking.

I am looking forward to a great weekend in Salt Lake City as we look at the A to Zs of Back to Basics in Non-profit Organizations.

Sincerely,

Lois Schick, MN, MBA, RN, CPAN, CAPA

ASPAN 2008-2009 President
